Wiseman Company powers up four new solar arrays in Solano County

New solar energy-producing carport systems have been installed at four of the Wiseman Company’s commercial office buildings in Fairfield, the firm announced.

The 700,000 kW DC SunPower Helix systems have been installed at Martin Plaza — 2420 Martin Road, Martin Place — 2450 Martin Road, Westside Professional I — 2480 Hilborn Road, and Westside Professional II — 2470 Hilborn Road, officials said.

This is the second wave of SunPower solar canopy mounted construction projects the firm has installed in Solano County, company officials said. The first was built a year ago at Green Valley Executive Center at 5030 Business Center Drive in Fairfield, and is offsetting more than 90 percent of electricity previously used from the grid, they said.

The lower carbon footprint of these four new projects has an equivalent offset of greenhouse gas emissions from over 1.2 million miles driven by average passenger vehicles and carbon sequestered from 583 acres of U.S. forests in one year, they said.

“We have a commitment to creating environmentally responsible and highly sustainable Class A buildings. Renewable energy from solar has proven to be a significant component to the Wiseman Company’s core value of Sustainability. We respect the natural environment and are committed to energy efficiency, water-use reduction, recycling and diminishing negative impacts on the planet.” Director of Properties Letty Perez said.

The installation of solar generating systems is also a symbol of the Wiseman Company’s commitment to providing the best possible amenities to their tenants and the public, officials said. The Wiseman Company looks forward to building on these efforts with additional solar construction projects in months to come, they said.
